Rather incongruously set in the town of Hope on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, it has Ava Gardner as a flirty singer ugg australiawho meets her match in James Mason captain of a Pandora Jewelryluxury yacht.
He turns out to be the Flying Dutchman, cursed to roam the seas forever, or at least until a woman loves him enough to die for him. Jack Cardiff superb Technicolor cinematography looks as beautiful as Gardner and that substantially the reason the film has stood the test of time.
