Ross’s criticism seems like it could literally
Herman Cain has come seemingly out of nowhere to be among the frontrunners in the GOP race for the 2012 presidential nomination. He’s touted himself as a political outsider and a man who knows how things work in the real world and the business world. And while much of that is true, Cain still has connections within the political realm in the form of his advisors and associates. Of course, while some are making a big deal out of the fact that Cain is not as much of an "outsider" because of those connections, the reality is ugg boots outlet that the (broken) "machine" that is Washington, DC won’t let a true outsider upset the balance. It is this system, after all, that sets up party insiders and career politicians to thrive financially even while producing little or nothing for the country they purport to serve.

Still, it’s worth noting that Cain’s campaign manager and several of his aides have done work in the past for American for Prosperity, most often referred to as "AFP." The group is described as being right-leaning, though the reality is that this is just code for "business friendly." AFP was founded by brothers Charles and David Koch and among its activities are lobbying for lower taxes and less government regulation and spending. Cain has even gone so far as to attribute some ugg boots for sale of the work on his "9-9-9" plan to a businessman who sits on the AFP board.

Said Republican Party of Wisconsin Vice Chair Brian Schimming, "He’s got a national network now that perhaps he wouldn’t have had 15 or 20 years ago because of his work with AFP. For a presidential candidate, that’s obviously helpful to have." Others are less thrilled, however. Says uber-liberal activist Scot Ross, "Herman Cain is the first presidential corporate spokes-candidate. The best way to have your issues talked about in the issue debate is to have a candidate in your pocket with snappy comebacks and easily branded policy papers which mask how destructive they would be."

Indeed, Ross’s criticism seems like it could literally fit any and all politicians that reside within both the Republican and Democratic parties, who live and breath based on the contributions they receive from corporate donors and, in turn, must do the bidding of their financial masters in order to keep living uggs outlet on easy street. Come to think of it, if "Main Street" is the political euphemism for average Americans, and "Wall Street" the term for the wealthy elite, it could just be that "Easy Street" is the best way to describe politicians, who live off the toil of their constituents without ever coming close to repaying them.
