my three weekly P90X workouts in Phase one will be Chest & Back
Well, I have been reading about all the people out there who have graduated from p90x and Insanity who have moved on to a hybrid program blending the two together. Consider me IN! I love the idea and now that I have taken a few weeks away from the everyday grind of Insanity I am ready to get back at a structured routine. I went online and did some research on the the hybrid programs, there are other coaches out there who have developed their own routines, plus Tony recently did an article in the P90X newsletter about creating hybrid program, so I took all that information and have created my own version of the P90X/Insanity Hybrid. I started today with P90X Chest & Back with Insanity Cardio Abs. I actually prefer Cardio Abs to Ab Ripper X, not sure why, I just do, so for the most part I will be using Cardio Abs on my strength days as my ab routine, but I know a lot of people out there are alternating Cardio Abs and Ab Ripper on their strength days, p90x workout which I think is a good idea.

Here is the thought process behind my hybrid program:
Insanity Phase 1 and 2 have three core routines you alternate during the course of each month, not including recovery. Phase one of my hybrid will include each of those workouts every week. P90X typically has three strength days per week, one being legs and back. I am going to forgo the legs and back routine since there is an extreme focus on building your legs and overall lower body in the Insanity routines, plus you will still always get in a back day with the other p90x reviews strength days. That being said, my three weekly P90X workouts in Phase one will be Chest & Back, Shoulder and Arms and Yoga X. Many of the hybrids I have seem out there only use Yoga X during the recovery weeks, which is fine, but flexibilty is very important to me and I know from my first round of P90X when I was doing Yoga I was imporving in all areas of my other routines, plus I just felt better.

Here is how my Phase 1 P90X/insanityHybrid will look:
Weeks 1-3
Day 1: Chest & Back, Cardio Abs
Day 2: Plyo interval circuit
Day 3: Shoulders & Arms, Cardio Abs
Day 4: Yoga X
Day 5: Cardio Power & Resistance
Day 6: Pure Cardio
Day 7: Rest or Stretch

Week 4 (Recovery)
Day 1: Core Cardio and Balance
Day 2: Core Synergysitcs
Day 3: Cardio Recovery
Day 4: Core Cardio and Balance
Day 5: Core Synergystics
Day 6: Yoga X
Day 7: X Stretch or Rest
